Cupsaw Lake Improvement Assocation

NAME

The name of this private lake association is CUPSAW LAKE IMPROVEMENT ASSOCIATION (CLIA), INCORPORATED.

PURPOSE

The purpose of this Association shall be to maintain, improve and extend the facilities on or about Cupsaw Lake for the benefit of the members of this Association, to initiate and support movements believed by the membership of the Association to be in the best interest of the Cupsaw Lake Area, and to cooperate with any group or organization to the end that the purpose of this Association be carried out.

VOTING MEMBERSHIP

The voting membership of this Association shall consist of adult members who own developed residential property within the area defined in Article I, Section 2 of the By-Laws.

ELECTIVE OFFICERS: (GOVERNING BOARD)

The elected and non-elected votings members of the Governing Board shall hold voting membership in the Association.

The Governing Board shall consist of:

  • President
  • First Vice President (in charge of Buildings and Grounds)
  • Treasurer
  • Second Vice President (in charge of Waterfront)
  • District Representatives
  • Secretary

Other non-elected voting members of the Governing Board are:

  • Past Presidents, for a period of four years.
  • The Presidents of each recognized sub-organization which now include:
    • Beach Club
    • Mens' Athletic Association (Mens' AA)
    • Womens' Athletic Association (Woman's AA)

Other non-voting members of the Governing Board are:

  • Past Presidents who are no lnger voting members.

AMENDMENTS

A proposed amendment to the Constitution may be initiated by a petition signed by not less than fifty (50) voting members or by resolution of the Governing Board.

Written notice of the proposed amendment shall be sent to the membership specifying the nature of the amendment and the date of the meeting at which it will be voted upon. Said notice shall be made through a special mailing or the Newsletter, at the discretion of the Board.

The date of the meeting for this vote shall be fifteen (15) days or more after the mailing date. The amendment shall be read at a regular or special membership meeting on the date specified in the mailing, and voted upon on that date. In order for the proposed amendment to be passed, it must be approved by two-thirds(2/3) of the members voting.
